Violin students of Rebekah Soued Violin Studio and piano students of Lacey Black will perform a recital showcasing their hard work and dedication to learning the violin and piano.
Silvertonian Rebekah Soued-Weaver is a dedicated teacher and freelance musician. She maintains studios in both Durango and Silverton, where she shares her love of music in teaching private lessons and group class. She loves to show her students the joy music can bring, while always prioritizing solid technique to give them the best foot forward. In addition to teaching, she performs regularly with the San Juan Symphony and loves playing with Silverton’s own Anvil Quartet.
A lifelong musician, Lacey Black is working to inspire the future generation of up-and-coming rockstars through her own performances and her private lesson studio. Lacey has made her full-time living as a performing musician for over two decades, all while maintaining a small but impactful group of private students. Lacey studied music education and performance on horn at Fort Lewis College, and has since taught in a limited capacity at Silverton Public School and Fort Lewis College, though she is currently only teaching privately. She has a lengthy catalogue of music that she has written, recorded, and published, and she continues to perform solo piano in Silverton and beyond.
