Wildlife of the San Juan Mountains

  • Grand Imperial Hotel (basement theater) 1219 Greene Street Silverton, CO, 81433 United States (map)

Silverton author and wildlife photographer Wesley Berg will share stories and images in his slide presentation "Wildlife of the San Juan Mountains”.

The forests, valleys, and high peaks of the San Juan Mountains are home to a variety of mammals, birds and other wildlife that not only survive but often thrive under the harsh conditions of mountain life. Join Silverton-based wildlife photographer and author Wesley Berg for a photo tour through the seasons to learn how many of these amazing animals have adapted to live in this unforgiving environment. Hear his stories about an encounter with a moose and her baby calf only a few hours old, a morning spent with a sleepy lynx on a sunny spring day, the red fox parents and their four kits who made their den in a collapsed mining structure, and many others.

This event is part of Silverton Creates! a week-long celebration of the arts. Details at www.silvertoncreates.com
