George Leech, retired fire management officer will present a PowerPoint on the Rodeo Chediski Fire that occurred on the Fort Apache reservation in 2002. The behavior of the fire as well as the effect that the fuel treatments had on the fire will be discussed. This presentation was submitted as evidence to Congress in testimony during hearings for the development of the Healthy Forest Initiative, which was established under the administration of President George W. Bush.

There will also be a light-hearted presentation on an interview with a Pine Tree. It discusses the changes that have occurred in the forest over the past one hundred years, as well as the reasons behind fire behavior today.
