THE RIDGWAY FÊTE DE LA MUSIQUE

A community-wide Live Music Event

June 20th is summer solstice, which happens to coincide with World Music Day (the 21st). On Music Day the citizens of a community are allowed and urged to play and enjoy music outside in their neighborhoods or in public spaces and parks. We have partnered with Citizen's State Bank to present the Ridgway Fête de la Musique, and our plan is for MANY musicians from all genres and levels to participate in this event throughout town on June 20. The event will be FREE to the public and will take place distanced and outdoors, with multiple performances happening at once all over town.

As you know, 2020 was especially hard on musicians who rely on public events to make a living. Our hope is this event will help to give numerous musicians a chance to play for a crowd while also offering them some financial support. And we also know the value of live music and how much we have all missed it over the past year, and want to be able to offer this for the community and surrounding area to enjoy!

The public will be encouraged to bring cash to tip the artists and artists will also be given an honorarium.
